Lions District 2-E2 Drug Awareness Council
The Drug Awareness Council of Lions District 2-E2 exists to further educate youth on the pitfalls and dangers of various drugs, both illicit and legal.

Since 1987
Lions District 2-E2 Drug Awareness Council, a Non-Profit Corporation, was formed to provide educational assistance and awareness to youth and adults of the dangers of drug abuse and chemical dependency through education programs and disseminating information to all elements of society.
The Drug Awareness Council (also known as DAC) sponsors Red Ribbon Week, which includes Poster Contests. In addition, grants from Lions Club-sponsored schools are available for those who apply.
Our Funding
Currently, our funding is provided by Lions District 2-E2 Clubs participating in the 100% Campaign, our Lifetime Memberships, and Individual Donations.
Our funding enables the organization to provide grants for the National Red Ribbon Week sponsored in schools and to sponsor scholarships for students who qualify in the Annual Poster Contest and Drug Awareness Essay and Speech Contest.
What We Do
The Drug Awareness Council works with Lions Clubs, schools, and other organizations within our Lions District 2-E2 to offer educational assistance and awareness to youth and adults by sponsoring the following:
- Red Ribbon Week in October during the National Red Ribbon Week conducted in public schools
- Annual Youth Poster Contest in January
- Annual Drug Awareness Speech Contest in January
- All Youth Contest Winners receive scholarship awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place positions. The Drug Awareness Speech Contest is offered by the State of Texas, which offers additional scholarships.
